One of the best parts of my job? Watching small projects turn into big impact for our community.
In February, Skagit Trail Builders wrapped up work on Quarry Trail with the Port of Skagit, setting the stage for Washington Trails Association to build a technical spur to a scenic overlook.
By early March, we were on to the next project: the Thompson Pond Loop Trail at Olmsted Park in Sedro-Woolley, WA.
These may be small segments, but they’re part of something much bigger…the Northern State Trail System! Since 2019, we’ve helped connect over 1,000 acres of public land, linking to neighborhoods and the Cascade (Rails-to-Trails) Trail.
The result?
Better access to nature. Stronger community health. Increased local tourism.
As Communications & Project Manager for Skagit Trail Builders, it is my honor to help make it all happen: organizing volunteers, supporting partners, and sharing the stories that bring this work to life.
And, yes, the storytelling is my favorite part!
